The Details

Match the dipstick to the can size. The L and XL Competition cans take different lengths, and the AOS-R takes its own. A dipstick from the wrong can will read incorrectly even if it threads in, which defeats the point of checking level.

O-ring kits are the right first move on any can that has started to weep at a joint, and they are worth fitting as routine whenever a can is opened for cleaning. A compressed O-ring that has been through heat cycles with ethanol fuel will not reseat the same way twice. Note the two kits are product specific: 20-0684 for the Competition catch can, 20-0685 for the AOS-R.
