Description

19 gallons per minute against 1.86 from a generic fuel jug. That is a ten-fold difference on pit lane.

The Radium Engineering quick fill dump can with 1.5in dry break and PRV is a 5 gallon can built around a large 1.675in OD vent tube drawing from the bottom. That vent architecture is the whole point: for quick filling, air must enter the can as fast as fuel leaves it, or a vacuum forms and you get the gurgle and chug that slows a standard jug to a crawl.

Choose Your Part

  • Quick fill dump can, 1.5in dry break, PRV (20-1697-01)
  • Dump can fuel filler cap (20-0997): threads onto the filler side for storage and transport

What You'll Feel

  • Refuelling roughly ten times faster than a standard fuel jug
  • A clear tube showing exactly how much has gone in
  • Warm-day pressure purged by pushing the PRV valve rather than cracking a cap
  • Knurled caps that unscrew with gloves on
  • Fuel type marked on the can so nothing gets confused in the paddock

Features

  • 5 gallon (19 litre) molded polymer can, semitransparent white
  • 1.5in dry break probe for Radium 1.5in dry break receptacles
  • PRV (pressure relief valve) venting the sealed side when warm; push the centre stainless valve to purge
  • Clear short tube for fuel fill monitoring
  • Large 1.675in OD / 1.375in ID vent tube, also usable for re-filling the can
  • Graduation marks molded in US gallons on one side and litres on the other
  • Vent cap with six fuel type indicators: unleaded, leaded, methanol, ethanol, pre-mixed, diesel
  • Rectangular 9.5in x 9.5in footprint matching the fuel jug industry standard
  • Integrated vent handle with finger grips, plus a molded grip in the base for inverted pouring
  • Safe for leaded, unleaded, diesel, AV gas, methanol, ethanol, E15, and E85

The Details

Radium's flow figures for the dry break version: 19.02 gpm with the vent cap on and flip cap open, 25.75 gpm with the vent cap off, against 1.86 gpm for a generic fuel jug. The standard-filler dump can manages 5.86 gpm by comparison, so the dry break is where the real time is won.

The PRV is the new feature worth knowing about: a sealed can left in the sun builds pressure, and pushing down on the centre stainless valve purges it without opening anything. For slower controlled filling, unlatch the plastic flip cap; unscrewing the entire vent cap is quicker but should be used with caution.

Dimensions are 25.25in tall by 9.5in square, matching the common jug footprint so cans stack and strap with the rest of your kit. The pour spout can be cut to suit 2.5in and 3in dry breaks, and for maximum flow the receiving cell wants a large vent such as the Radium 20-0535.

The 15-0004 polyurethane leather probe cover, also stocked, protects the dry break's dynamic elements in storage and transit.

Kit Includes
