Why it matters
In the Falcon, the ZF automatic relies on CAN information from the factory ABS module to shift properly. Transplant the engine and gearbox into another vehicle, and that module usually does not come along. The ABS Module setting on the Elite lets the ECU stand in for it, so the ZF can still shift on its own. You'll find it at Main Setup (F4) > Devices > ABS Module.
Choose the right option

Never switch away from Installed when a working factory ABS unit is in the car. Two sources of the same data on the bus will cause communication conflicts.
What the simulation needs
Simulating the ABS only works if the ECU has good data to send. Before you test drive, make sure each of these is set up and reading correctly:
- A brake switch
- Engine coolant temperature
- Engine oil temperature
- Throttle position, from drive by wire or a TPS
- At least one vehicle speed sensor
For road speed, you can use the Drive Train Sensor as a CAN input. Whatever the source, calibrate it on the Calibration tab of Vehicle Speed Sensors so the reading matches real speed. Shift points depend on it.
Verify every install
This feature may not behave exactly like a factory car in every combination of engine, gearbox and chassis. After setup, check that the transmission shifts when and how it should, across light and heavy throttle, before you call the job done.
