Description

Rywire H1-Milspec is a mil-spec tucked engine harness for H-series (H22/H23) and F-series (F20B) engines, cross-compatible between the two. It is the harness for an H22 swap into a Civic, CRX or Integra, or a clean tucked bay in a Prelude or Accord. Every connector and material is new, the harness runs OBD1 (1992-1995) computer plugs, and a chassis-specific adapter connects it to your car. Built to order by Rywire in the USA.

Why This Mil-Spec H22 Swap Harness

The Rywire H1-Milspec is a mil-spec tucked H22 swap harness for H22/H23 and F20B engines, converted to H/F spec, with OBD1 computer plugs and a chassis adapter for your car.

  • Versus re-pinning a donor Prelude or Accord harness: this Rywire H/F harness already moves the alternator lead to the H22A front location and includes the reverse lamp mating connector, so no stretching an old harness.
  • Versus a used junkyard harness: this Rywire H/F harness is all-new wire, pins and plugs, labeled and pin-to-pin tested; 1992-2001 Prelude owners send in a 2-pin core connector.
  • Versus a universal flying-lead harness: this Rywire H/F harness arrives terminated for the H/F-series connector list and OBD1 computer plugs A, B and D, with an optional injector resistor box installed.
  • Mil-spec materials: this Rywire H/F harness uses Tefzel wire, Raychem DR-25 heat shrink and shielded, grounded circuits, with an optional firewall quick disconnect for engine removal.
  • Any chassis: this Rywire H/F harness has a separate chassis adapter; race cars use the Race Fuse/Relay Box V3 or the Rywire PDM chassis harness.

Best for: H22/H23 or F20B swaps into a Civic, CRX or Integra, or tucked Prelude and Accord bays, with an internal-coil distributor and OBD1 computer.

Engine Swap Fitment

  • Honda H22/H23 and F20B engines (one harness serves both)
  • Internal-coil distributors only; external-coil distributors cannot be used
  • Chassis adapters for 1984-2000 Civic, 1984-1991 CRX, 1990-2001 Integra, 1987-2001 Prelude and 1990-1997 Accord
  • Any other chassis via the Other/Custom/Race-Style adapter, the Rywire Race Fuse/Relay Box V3 (with or without Switch Panel) or the Rywire PDM chassis harness
  • OBD1 (1992-1995) computer connectors; OBD2 computers through a computer adapter, but USDM OBD2 computers are not supported
  • Aftermarket computers on OBD2 plugs and non-US OBD2 computers are compatible, except H22 and GSR stock computers

Features

  • Mil-spec construction: Tefzel wire, new connectors and Raychem DR-25 heat shrink
  • Every terminal crimped with pneumatic heads and tagged with a white ID label
  • Interference-prone circuits shielded and grounded
  • 100% pin-to-pin tested and resistance checked
  • Interior/shock-tower chassis adapter separates from the engine harness, so a chassis change only needs a new adapter
  • Built on Rywire's B/D-series harness platform and converted to H/F spec: alternator moved to a generic 3-pin connector and lengthened to the front of the engine (H22A factory location); mating connector for the transmission reverse lamp supplied
  • Optional injector resistor box, installed near the orange power service plug
  • Optional firewall mil-spec quick-disconnect for fast engine removal

Choosing Options

  • Vehicle: your chassis, which sets the interior "chassis adapter" Rywire builds. Choose Other/Custom/Race-Style, the Race Fuse/Relay Box V3 (with or without the Switch Panel) or Rywire PDM System for race cars or any chassis not listed.
  • Injector Plug: the plug on your injectors. Bosch EV1 / Honda OBD1 is the stock Honda plug; Bosch EV14 covers most Injector Dynamics injectors.
  • Component Type & Resistor Box: OBD1 injectors, distributor and alternator for 1992-1995 parts, or OBD2 injectors and alternator with a 10-pin or 8-pin distributor for 1996-2000 parts; plus no resistor box, the 1988-1991 Prelude (green/white plug) or the 1992-1995 Accord/Prelude (gray plug) resistor box.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it work with an OBD2 engine computer?

The harness uses OBD1 computer plugs. OBD2 computers can run through a computer adapter, but USDM OBD2 computers are not supported. Aftermarket computers on OBD2 plugs and non-US OBD2 computers work, except H22 and GSR stock computers.

Do I need to send anything in?

1992-2001 Prelude owners need to send in the 2-pin core connector from the original engine harness. For other Accords and Preludes Rywire may ask to borrow the stock engine harness to match the shock-tower configuration exactly.

Can I run an external-coil distributor?

No. The distributor wiring is set up for internal-coil distributors only. Email service@tunedbyshawn.com with your engine, chassis and ECU before ordering if you are unsure which configuration you need.

Will this H22 swap harness work with an external-coil distributor or a USDM OBD2 computer?

No. The Rywire H1-Milspec is wired for internal-coil distributors only. It uses OBD1 computer plugs; USDM OBD2 computers and the stock H22 and GSR computers are not supported.

For off-road and competition use only. Not legal for use on pollution-controlled motor vehicles.
