Description

Rywire K2-Base is the budget version 2 tucked K-series engine harness for K20 swaps. Version 2 routes like the OEM K-series harness, through the center or toward the right side of the firewall, which suits right-hand-drive cars but works fine in left-hand-drive chassis too, and it clears aggressive headers. It matches the K2 mil-spec harness except for the wire type, single black color and expandable loom. No core is needed.

Why This K20 Swap Harness for Your K-Swap

Rywire K2-Base is a budget tucked K20 swap harness for K-swaps into older Honda chassis: all-new wire, pins and plugs with 2002-2004 K20-style crank, ECT, knock and alternator plugs, routed like the OEM K-series harness.

  • Versus re-pinning your donor harness: Donor K-series harnesses are often 20+ years old, cut, brittle or missing plugs. This Rywire K20 budget harness is built new to order, so no core is needed.
  • Versus a universal flying-lead harness: With flying leads you terminate every connector yourself. This Rywire K20 budget harness is crimped with pneumatic heads, ID-labeled, and tested pin to pin and resistance checked before shipping.
  • Versus Rywire's mil-spec line (K2-Mil-spec): The Rywire K2-Mil-spec K20 harness has the same V2 layout and connectors, built with Tefzel wire rated to 200 C in factory colors under Raychem DR-25, for a show-quality bay.
  • Why pick the budget build: This Rywire K20 budget harness gives the same plug-in fit for less money, using single black wire in expandable loom. Choose it when function matters more than wire colors.
  • Version 2 routing: This Rywire K20 budget harness runs through the center or right of the firewall like the OEM K-series harness, works in LHD and RHD cars and clears aggressive headers.
  • Built by a Honda swap wiring specialist: Rywire built the 1988 CRX K20 featured in Super Street (2009) and the ITR-powered E-AT Civic on the November 2013 Honda Tuning cover.

Best for: K20 swaps on a budget that still want a new, tucked, tested harness. K24 engine: Rywire K24-Base. Pair it with a K-Series Chassis Adapter.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this harness plug and play into my Civic or Integra?

Not by itself. It follows the OEM K-series layout, so you still need the Rywire K-Series Chassis Adapter for your car.

Does version 2 work in a left-hand-drive car?

Yes. The version 2 routing is ideal for right-hand-drive cars but is not limited to them.

Do I need to send in a core?

No core is needed. Email service@tunedbyshawn.com with your engine, chassis and ECU before ordering if you are unsure which configuration you need.

Should I buy the Rywire budget or mil-spec tucked K20 harness?

Both use the same Version 2 layout and connectors. The budget K2-Base costs less and uses single black wire in expandable loom; the mil-spec K2-Mil-spec uses Tefzel wire in factory colors under Raychem DR-25 with adhesive-lined junctions.

For off-road and competition use only. Not legal for use on pollution-controlled motor vehicles.
