Rywire B1-Base is the budget tucked engine harness for D-series and B-series swaps using OBD1 (1992-1995) engine parts and an OBD1 engine computer. It follows the same layout as the Rywire mil-spec tucked harness; the differences are the single black wire color and expandable loom instead of color-coded wire and heat shrink. The interior side is a separate chassis adapter matched to your car, so if you change chassis later you only need a new adapter, not a new harness.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this harness work with an OBD2 B-series?

This version has OBD1 injector, distributor and alternator plugs. If your engine has 1996-2000 parts, choose the OBD2 Budget D and B-series Tucked Engine Harness, or adapt the injectors here with the injector adapters.

Can I use an OBD2 computer?

Only aftermarket computers with OBD2 plugs and non-US OBD2 computers, through a computer plug adapter. USDM OBD2 computers, and the stock H22 and GSR computers, are not supported.

What is the difference between the budget and mil-spec harness?

The layout is nearly the same. The budget harness uses single-color black wire in expandable loom; the OBD1 Mil-Spec D and B-Series Tucked Engine Harness uses color-coded Tefzel wire under Raychem DR-25 heat shrink and can take a firewall quick disconnect. Should I re-pin my factory harness or buy a Rywire B-series swap harness?

Re-pinning a 20+ year old harness means many splices and hours of work on wiring of unknown condition. The Rywire B1-Base arrives new, terminated for OBD1 engine parts and computer, tested pin to pin, with a chassis adapter for your car.
