Every high-power Miata build eventually hits the same wall: the factory pump module was never meant to feed real horsepower, and stacking hats or splicing wiring is not a fuel system.

The Radium Engineering fuel pump hanger for the 1989-2005 Mazda MX-5 Miata completely replaces the factory in-tank fuel pump module and carries one or two aftermarket pumps of 39mm body diameter, with the OEM fuel level sensor reused and no modifications required for fitment under the fuel pump access cover. Anodized billet extension brackets adapt the hanger to every fuel tank variation across the 89-05 range, and a level sensor extension mount serves the deeper late-model tanks. Gasoline, E85, and methanol compliant. Pumps are not included.

The Details

The regulator story depends on the generation. On 89-97 cars the OEM fuel pressure regulator lives on the fuel rail and stays: the hanger has no interaction with it. On 99-05 cars, installing this hanger removes the OEM regulator from the system, so an aftermarket FPR is mandatory; Radium's plug and play answers are the 20-1022 RA-series FPR kit for 99-05 cars or the full 20-1025-03 / 20-1025-05 fuel hanger plumbing kit. Staging two Ti E5LM pumps requires the Radium 20-0798 pump outlet check valve, since the E5LM has none of its own. Single pump installs can often reuse OEM wiring, with upgraded wiring recommended for full pump output. Pair the system with the Radium fuel rail for your engine, the 1.6L B6 rail (20-0769-02) or the 1.8L BP rail (20-0369), both carried in the store.
