Description

Toyota put an inline pulse damper on the 2JZ-GTE for a reason; your AN-plumbed build deserves the same physics.

Injector events hammer the rail with pressure pulses, and when there is no rail port available for a damper, the line itself is the answer. The Radium Engineering FPD-R Inline Fuel Pulse Damper Kit mounts the FPD-R in an anodized aluminum housing with a large 0.69" center bore, two in-line ports machined 3/4"-16 for 8AN ORB fittings, and 6AN male adapter fittings sealing to the billet housing on FKM O-rings. A 1/8" NPT female port in the center takes a pressure gauge or sensor, and the supplied M6 hardware mounts the kit at any angle, including upside down. Factory-proven architecture, from the 2JZ-GTE to the VQ35DE to the EJ20/EJ25, brought to your custom system.

What You'll Feel

  • A calmer idle and cleaner AFR trace, with injector-driven oscillation absorbed before it compounds
  • The stumble that resisted tuning finally gone, especially on high flow injectors
  • Damping for systems with no rail-mount option, installed right in the feed line
  • A ready-made 1/8" NPT port for the fuel pressure gauge or sensor the build wanted anyway

Features

  • FPD-R damper: for systems with base static fuel pressure between 40 and 70 psi
  • Anodized aluminum housing, 0.69" center bore, dual 3/4"-16 (8AN ORB) in-line ports
  • 6AN male adapter fittings included, sealing on FKM O-rings; 8AN kit available separately
  • 1/8" NPT female center port for a gauge or pressure/temperature sensor
  • Vacuum/boost reference port maintains damper performance at elevated fuel pressures, essential with 1:1 rising rate regulators on boost
  • Mounts at any angle via supplied M6 bolts/nuts; safe for all fuel types

The Details

The R-versus-XR decision starts with base static pressure, measured with the pump running and no vacuum line on the regulator: the FPD-R requires 40 to 70 psi, while the FPD-XR extends to 105 psi. Radium's Evo example shows the nuance, since a 43.5 psi base car qualifies for the FPD-R even though boost pushes running pressure to 73.5 psi, provided the vacuum/boost reference line is connected so the damper tracks the regulator. Packaging can also decide it: at 1.98" tall with its green top, the FPD-R is shorter than the 2.60" black-top FPD-XR, earning its place in space-constrained installs, though Radium recommends the XR when room allows. Plumb the damper as close to the fuel rails as possible for best results, keep it away from excessive heat like any fuel component, and remember the ecosystem logic: some systems need multiple dampers, and some benefit from one on the return line.

Kit Includes

  • 1x FPD-R fuel pulse damper with anodized aluminum inline housing
  • 2x 6AN male adapter fittings with FKM O-rings
  • M6 mounting bolts and nuts

Applications

  • Universal: EFI systems with 40-70 psi base static fuel pressure and 6AN feed plumbing
  • Systems without a rail-mount damper option; boosted cars with 1:1 rising rate regulators (reference line required)
  • All fuel types; not for mechanical pumps or direct injection high-pressure circuits
