Description

Radium builds bolt-in catch can kits for dozens of chassis, and for everything else, there is this.

Every engine venting oil vapor into its own intake deserves interception, whether or not an application-specific kit exists. The Radium Engineering Universal Fluid Lock Catch Can is the same solid 6061 aluminum, O-ring sealed can that anchors Radium's chassis kits: 10AN ORB inlet and outlet ports, an integrated stainless baffle plate backed by two internal stainless air/oil separators, an M8x1.25 threaded dipstick, and the patented Fluid Lock mechanism that prevents overfilling and traps collected fluids until you drain them. Choose the single can or the dual set for covering both PCV and CCV circuits. Fittings sold separately, so the plumbing matches your engine, not a template.

What You'll Feel

  • Cleaner inlet air and effectively higher octane, with oil vapor pulled out of circulation
  • No oil film accumulating in the intake, intercooler, and throttle body
  • Boost-safe sealing, since both halves and all ports are O-ring sealed for forced induction
  • Overfill protection from the Fluid Lock mechanism, even when service slips
  • A ten-second level check on the unscrewing dipstick, and easy draining by reservoir or optional petcock kit

Features

  • Machined from solid 6061 aluminum; 2 halves and all ports O-ring sealed, safe for pressurized applications
  • Main inlet and outlet ports: 10AN ORB (7/8"-14) female threads; 4AN ORB bottom drain port
  • Integrated stainless steel baffle plate plus 2 internal stainless air/oil separators
  • Patented Fluid Lock mechanism prevents reservoir overfilling and traps collected fluids
  • Integrated M8x1.25mm threaded dipstick unscrews for quick level checks
  • Single (20-0008-FL) or dual (20-0005-FL) configurations with universal mounting bracket(s)

The Details

The Fluid Lock design change solves the classic catch can failure: an unserviced can eventually pours its collection straight into the intake, and the patented mechanism makes that impossible by locking the reservoir's contents in until drained. Plumbing is deliberately open-ended, with the 10AN ORB ports accepting barb fittings with spring clamps or AN fittings with PushLok hose ends from Radium's catalog, and bulk PCV hose available in the sizes your engine's barbs measure. Installation rules from Radium: mount vertically away from hot or moving components so oil collects in the bottom section, expect that some PCV system designs need multiple cans, and note these cans are not designed for use with aftermarket crankcase vacuum pumps. Drain by unscrewing the lower reservoir, or install the petcock drain kit in the 4AN bottom port where the can is hard to separate in place. Excessive collection is a message, not a malfunction: it can indicate ring seal or crankcase issues worth diagnosing.

Kit Includes

  • 1x or 2x Fluid Lock catch can(s) per selected configuration
  • Universal mounting bracket(s)
  • Fittings and hose sold separately (10AN ORB adapters and bulk PCV hose available)

Applications

  • Universal: vehicles without an application-specific Radium kit, custom builds, and engine swaps
  • Naturally aspirated and forced induction; not for aftermarket crankcase vacuum pumps
  • Dual configuration covers separate PCV and CCV circuits
