On the Evo X, crankcase vapor, fuel, and oil sludge get drawn through the PCV hose into the intake manifold, coating everything downstream and dulling performance over time. The Radium Engineering Fluid Lock Catch Can Kit plumbs in-line with the PCV hose and traps those contaminants in a billet 6061 aluminum can with 10AN ORB ports, 2-step separation baffling, and Radium's patented Fluid Lock mechanism that stops a full can from pushing fluids back into the engine. It mounts directly behind the right headlight on a laser-cut bracket. A sealed, track-legal system that keeps your intake tract clean.

The Details

When the PCV valve opens under manifold vacuum, it pulls crankcase vapor along with suspended oil and unspent fuel toward the intake manifold. The Radium can sits in-line and forces that flow through a 2-step baffle system, where the heavier oil and moisture drop out and collect in the reservoir while clean air continues on to the engine. Because the system is closed loop, filtered air routes back through the engine to be burned, which promotes negative crankcase pressure and keeps oil vapor out of the cabin. The Fluid Lock mechanism is the part most catch cans skip: if the reservoir fills before you drain it, an internal valve closes so contaminants cannot pour back into the intake stream. Check the level with the integrated dipstick starting around 3 to 4 weeks of driving to learn your car's collection rate. Draining means unscrewing the lower reservoir, or adding Radium's petcock drain kit (sold separately) where space allows. Installation is bolt-in behind the right headlight with the included bracket and hose. Note that some European-market Evo X models with headlamp washer reservoirs have an interference with this can.
