The Details

ORB joints seal entirely on the O-ring, which makes the seal a wear item in a way tapered threads never are: any time a fitting comes out, inspect the ring for nicks, flattening, or swelling, and replace on doubt since the part costs pennies against a fuel leak. Installation rules are the usual: lubricate the new O-ring with O-ring lube, petroleum jelly, or oil before threading the fitting in, and never dry-install. Size follows the thread, with 6AN ORB at 9/16"-18, 8AN at 3/4"-16, and 10AN at 7/8"-14. Keep the pack with your AN wrenches and the whole ORB ecosystem stays serviceable.
