The Radium Engineering Fuel Surge Tank Install Kit for the Mitsubishi Evo 8/9 includes everything needed to install a Radium FST with a single 39mm fuel pump in the 2003-2006 Evolution VIII and IX: the kit locates the FST in a collision-safe area of the trunk, centered behind the rear seat, allowing the majority of the trunk space to remain usable, with the aluminum bracket solidly mounting to the V-brace and the FST isolated through the OEM carpet cover to reduce fuel pump noise and vibration. FST and fuel pump sold separately; designed for single-pump FSTs only, NOT the MPFST.

The Details

One honest note from Radium belongs in the plan: due to the restrictive return port on the OEM fuel pump housing, a slightly higher static fuel pressure is normal when using a high flow pump, and the OEM venturi jet pump in the return port can be modified to alleviate the restriction and promote fuel flow back. The architecture runs the standard FST pattern, with the lift pump filling the surge canister and the surge pump feeding the engine, and the collision-safe V-brace location keeps the hardware protected while the carpet isolation keeps the cabin civilized. Select the FST and pump for the fuel and power target, wire per the included components, and the Evo corners on low fuel without a stumble.
