Description

The first warning of fuel starvation should come from a switch, not a misfire.

Surge tanks and fuel cells run low silently until the engine notices, and by then the lean event is already underway. The Radium Engineering Fuel Level Switch and Diagnostic Indicator puts a sensor inside the container: the 20-0461 is a corrosion resistant stainless steel 1/8" NPT level switch compatible with all fuel types, installed inside Radium Multi-Pump Fuel Surge Tanks (MPFST) and Fuel Cell Surge Tanks (FCST) through their machined "Level Switch" ports. When fuel drops, the switched signal can drive a dash indicator or a programmable ECU input for safety strategies. Add the 20-0508 LED diagnostic indicator for a visual reference, or take the 20-0519 kit combining both.

What You'll Feel

  • Advance warning of low fuel level before starvation reaches the engine
  • An ECU-ready safety input for strategies like power reduction or alarm triggers
  • A simple LED reference for diagnosing fueling issues during setup and testing
  • Corrosion-proof stainless construction living happily in gasoline, E85, or methanol

Features

  • 20-0461: 1/8" NPT fuel level switch, corrosion resistant stainless steel, compatible with all fuel types
  • Installs inside Radium MPFST and FCST containers via their machined "Level Switch" ports
  • Switched signal output for dash indicators or programmable ECU inputs
  • 20-0508: LED diagnostic indicator wired directly to the level switch signal; soldering required, and a 2AN ORB (5/16"-24) threaded port is required for installation
  • 20-0519: combination kit including both the 20-0461 switch and 20-0508 indicator

The Details

Compatibility is the first gate: Radium states this switch works only with the MPFST and FCST product families, which carry the dedicated, labeled level switch ports the sensor threads into. Once installed, the switch's output is just a clean signal when level drops, and what you do with it is up to the build: a warning light on the dash, a logged channel, or an ECU safety input that pulls timing or boost when the surge supply runs low. The 20-0508 indicator is the simplest consumer of that signal, an LED that lights when the switch triggers. Radium is candid that it is often not practical to watch while driving, but as a diagnostic reference during setup, testing, and troubleshooting it answers the "is the surge tank actually staying full" question directly. Two installation notes for the indicator: soldering is required for the 20-0508 kit, and if stacking the indicator on top of the level switch, the panel thickness must be at least 0.75".
