Description

Godzilla's tank was baffled for 1989; thirty-five years of RB26 power development says otherwise.

The Radium Engineering Fuel Hanger Surge Tank (FHST) for the R32 Skyline GT-R integrates a surge tank directly into the factory fuel tank, eliminating fuel starvation during hard acceleration, cornering, and high-G driving without external surge plumbing. Kits arrive partially assembled with final assembly at installation, carrying enough parts to run 1, 2, or 3 surge tank pumps plus 1 lift pump. Three versions match pump families: 20-0740-00 for the Walbro GSS342 and AEM 50-1200, 20-0742-00 for the Walbro F90000267/274/285 E85 pumps, and 20-0741-00 for the brushless Ti Automotive E5LM (BKS1001). Preinstalled barb fittings permit direct connections to the factory rubber fuel hoses with no extra plumbing required, while included 8AN feed and 6AN return adapter fittings serve aftermarket AN systems, and the fitting ports are machined low enough to clear the unibody sheet metal. Pumps sold separately.

What You'll Feel

  • Fuel starvation eliminated through the launches, corners, and sustained G the GT-R was built for
  • Delivery scaling to 3 surge pumps for the single-turbo and E85 RB26 builds
  • Factory hose connections on the preinstalled barbs, or AN plumbing via the included 8AN/6AN adapters
  • An in-tank installation with no external surge tank, wiring runs, or trunk sacrifice
  • Ports machined to clear the unibody, with no cutting or drilling to route lines

Features

  • In-tank fuel hanger surge tank replacing the factory unit; supports 1-3 surge pumps + 1 lift pump
  • 20-0740-00: Walbro GSS342 / AEM 50-1200; 20-0742-00: Walbro F90000267/274/285 E85; 20-0741-00: Ti E5LM brushless
  • Preinstalled barb fittings for factory rubber hoses; 8AN feed and 6AN return AN adapters included
  • Fitting ports machined low to clear unibody sheet metal

The Details

Radium documents a pump strategy worth knowing: brushed and brushless pumps can run together, with the popular mixed approach starting from the 20-0741-00 hanger and adding 1 or 2 Ti BKS1001 E5LM pumps as the build demands, brushless controllers included in the pump's ecosystem. The lift pump keeps the surge canister full from the main tank while surge pumps feed the engine from that reservoir, and every pump wants a Radium DIY wiring kit for honest current delivery. The companion 20-0703 plumbing kits (sold separately, stainless or microglass filter) complete the path from hanger to an aftermarket rail, anchoring Radium's full R32 fuel delivery system alongside the RB26 rail, FPD-R damper, and DMR regulator. Non-GT-R R32 Skylines use Radium's separate hanger.
