Description

The G16E-GTS makes 300 horsepower from 1.6 liters; that intensity shows up in the crankcase first.

Three cylinders working that hard generate concentrated blow-by, and at wide open throttle it flows straight toward the turbocharger inlet. The Radium Engineering Fluid Lock CCV Catch Can Kit for the Toyota GR Corolla runs inline between the crankcase vent port on the valve cover and the turbo inlet port, catching the oil and sludge that would otherwise accumulate in the turbocharger, intercooler, and intake manifold. The can mounts to threaded studs on the RH strut tower with no permanent modifications, stays compatible with the OEM engine cover, and installs in 10 to 30 minutes. Closed loop, emissions and track legal.

What You'll Feel

  • The turbocharger, intercooler, and intake manifold protected from high-load crankcase flow
  • A factory-clean install on strut tower studs, hidden under the OEM engine cover
  • One of the fastest catch can installs Radium makes, at 10 to 30 minutes
  • Clean filtered air returned to the intake and negative crankcase pressure preserved
  • Overfill protection from the Fluid Lock design between services

Features

  • Runs inline between the valve cover crankcase vent (CCV) port and the turbocharger inlet port
  • Fluid Lock catch can: 10AN ORB ports, 4AN ORB drain port, 2-step oil separation baffling, O-ring sealed dipstick
  • Mounts to threaded studs on the RH strut tower; no cutting, drilling, or permanent modifications
  • Compatible with the OEM engine cover
  • Closed loop, does NOT vent to atmosphere: emissions and track legal, no vapors in the cabin

The Details

The CCV circuit is the GR Corolla's high-load story: at low loads the line sits at atmospheric pressure, but at wide open throttle crankcase flow surges toward the intake system, and this can intercepts it at exactly that moment. One diagnostic note Radium publishes plainly: when this kit is assembled per the instructions on an otherwise-OEM engine, a check engine light will not trigger, though some aftermarket intake systems can create a crankcase ventilation system code entirely on their own, worth knowing before blaming the can. Service follows the family rhythm, with dipstick checks starting at 3 to 4 weeks to learn the collection rate, draining by unscrewing the lower reservoir or via the optional petcock kit, and excessive collection treated as diagnostic information about ring seal or crankcase health.
