Description
EcoBoost heat finds the weakest part in the bay, and on the Focus, that part is molded plastic holding pressurized coolant.
The Radium Engineering Coolant Tank Kit for the 2013+ Focus ST and 2016+ Focus RS replaces the factory degas tank with CNC machined aluminum built on the same architecture as Radium's expansion tanks: a low-profile two-chamber design with two crossover passages and an internal swirl feature that strips entrained air out of circulating coolant. A laser cut mounting bracket and stainless hardware put it in the factory location, and the metal construction ends the plastic tank's countdown for good.

The Details
The two-chamber layout does quiet work: crossover passages at top and bottom let coolant and air migrate between chambers, giving air a place to collect and separate while the swirl feature accelerates the process by spinning incoming coolant. On a turbocharged EcoBoost that spends its life heat-soaking the engine bay, moving the coolant reservoir from plastic to machined aluminum removes a known failure mode while the deaeration architecture improves how the system actually functions, not just how long it lasts. Installation lands in the factory location using the included bracket and hardware. Check your pressure cap's condition while the system is open, since a tired cap undermines any tank.
