The Radium Engineering Coolant Tank Kit for the 2013-2014 Shelby GT500 replaces the plastic coolant tank at the front of the engine bay with hardware built for the duty: a coolant expansion tank CNC machined from aluminum in two bolted halves, whose internal design features two chambers that are not isolated from each other, with cross-over passages at the top and bottom, plus an internal swirl feature aiding in deaerating the system. Laser etched, anodized, low-profile, and finished with stainless hardware. One planning note matters: the OEM pressure cap cannot be reused, so pair the tank with a Radium stainless pressure cap, sold separately.

The Details

Deaeration is the quiet job a header tank does, and the 5.8's supercharged output makes it critical: entrained air steals heat capacity exactly when the blower is adding heat fastest, and the swirl internals coax those bubbles out of circulation while the connected chambers balance flow through the crossover passages. The cap decision completes the system, with Radium's stainless caps carrying a race proven high pressure valve, and the higher-pressure option raising the boiling point for improved cooling efficiency when tracking the vehicle in extreme conditions. Installation lands in the factory location with the kit's hardware, instructions available from Radium.
