Description

The S197's plastic degas bottle ages exactly as well as every other plastic degas bottle.

The Radium Engineering Coolant Tank Kit for the 2011-2014 Ford Mustang replaces it for good: a TIG welded aluminum coolant expansion tank with chassis-specific mounting for the S197's final generation, serving GT, V6, and Boss builds whose cooling systems work harder than Ford planned. Bolt-in installation in the factory location.

What You'll Feel

  • The clouded, crack-prone factory bottle retired before it fails
  • Coolant condition visible and serviceable through proper hardware
  • An engine bay upgrade matching the rest of a built Coyote's presentation
  • Pressure cap flexibility through Radium's cap options (sold separately)

The Details

Track days write the case for aluminum, with the 5.0's cooling system cycling hard under sustained load and the factory plastic bottle aging on every cycle; the welded tank removes the failure mode rather than deferring it to the next heat soak. Radium's coolant tank architecture keeps the hose interfaces serviceable and the cap selectable, matching relief pressure to the cooling system's needs through the optional cap range. Installation swaps into the factory position, with the system refilled and bled per Ford's procedure, and the S197 gains a component built for the duty its owners actually ask of it.
