Radium Engineering Fluid Lock catch can kits for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII and IX pull oil and water condensation out of the crankcase gases before they reach the intake, keeping the manifold, throttle body, and intercooler clean. Both kits mount to the strut towers on billet brackets with no permanent modification, and each includes enough hose to suit a car whose plumbing has already been changed.

Choose Your Kit

• PCV Catch Can Kit (20-0116-FL): mounts beside the RH strut tower, inline between the PCV valve and intake manifold. LHD only.
• CCV Catch Can Kit (20-0117-FL): mounts beside the LH strut tower, inline with the crankcase vent hose from the valve cover to the turbo inlet pipe. Fits LHD and RHD.
• Dual Catch Can Kit (20-0118-FL): both kits in one box. LHD only.

The Details

Read the drive-side note before ordering, because it differs by kit. The PCV kit and therefore the dual kit are LHD only, since the RH strut tower area differs on right hand drive cars. The CCV kit fits both LHD and RHD, so RHD Evo owners can still run the crankcase side.

A detail that matters on a boosted car: Radium's catch cans are pressure sealed, so they are safe for boosted applications and no check valve is needed when connecting the PCV circuit to the intake manifold. The kit also maintains the OEM closed system operation of the PCV valve rather than defeating it.

The CCV can may be vented to atmosphere if you prefer, using the 20-0050 air filter vent fitting, though certain battery configurations will not leave room to fit the filter directly on the can's side port. Note that venting to atmosphere gives up the emissions and tech-legal advantage of the closed system.

No fixed emptying interval applies. Check the dipstick at three to four weeks and set your own schedule, noting PCV cans typically collect more than CCV cans.
