Description

An F20C at 9,000rpm moves a lot of air past the rings, and all of it goes back through the intake.

Radium Engineering Fluid Lock catch can kits for the Honda S2000 draw oil and water condensation out of the crankcase gases before they reach the intake, keeping the intake tract, throttle body, and manifold clean. These are closed loop systems that do not vent to atmosphere, so they are emissions and track legal: filtered air routes back into the engine to be burned, which also promotes negative crankcase pressure and keeps oil vapour out of the cabin.

Choose Your Kit

  • PCV Catch Can Kit (20-0098-FL): inline with the 3/8in PCV valve, catching what gets drawn into the manifold at idle, cruise, and decel. Ships with two brackets, one of which goes unused if the crankcase kit is also fitted.
  • Crankcase (CCV) Catch Can Kit (20-0097-FL): inline with the 1/2in valve cover breather port, catching what gets pulled into the intake pipe at wide open throttle
  • Dual Catch Can Kit (20-0099-FL): both kits together, Radium's recommendation for complete protection

What You'll Feel

  • An intake tract that stays clean instead of glazing with oil film
  • On a boosted S2000, an intercooler that keeps its thermal efficiency rather than collecting oil
  • Fluid Lock protection: the can cannot overfill and dump contaminants back into the intake
  • The OEM metal hard tube loom eliminated, replaced with proper vacuum and heater hose
  • A closed system that passes tech and keeps oil smell out of the cabin

Features

  • Patented Fluid Lock system preventing reservoir overfill
  • 7 fluid ounce billet can with integrated condenser and O-ring sealed dipstick
  • Large 10AN ORB inlet and outlet ports, 4AN ORB drain port
  • 2-step oil separation baffling
  • S2000-specific laser cut powder coated mounting brackets
  • Anodized aluminum hose ends and adapter fittings, 6AN on the PCV kit and 8AN on the crankcase kit
  • Stainless steel mounting hardware

The Details

The two circuits catch different things at different times. The PCV hose sees metered vacuum at idle, steady cruise, and deceleration, drawing crankcase vapour, unspent fuel, and oil sludge into the manifold right after a hard run. The crankcase vent sits at atmospheric pressure at low load but pulls vacuum at wide open throttle, sending contaminants into the air filter intake pipe. If the car is turbocharged or supercharged and you are finding oil in the intercooler, the crankcase kit is the one that addresses it, since oil on the core lowers heat exchange efficiency.

A useful detail on the crankcase kit: it includes vacuum and heater hose to eliminate the OEM metal hard tube loom, so the install tidies up factory plumbing rather than working around it. The PCV kit ships with two mounting brackets, an S2000-specific one and a universal one, and one goes unused depending on whether the crankcase kit is also fitted, so do not assume a part is surplus by mistake.

No fixed emptying interval applies. Check the dipstick at three to four weeks and set your own schedule, noting PCV cans typically collect more than crankcase cans. Excessive collection points at the engine rather than the can, whether blowby from wear, an over-full oil level causing windage, or a PCV valve not closing under load.

Kit Includes

  • PCV kit: billet catch can with condenser and dipstick, S2000-specific and universal powder coated brackets, anodized 6AN hose ends and adapter fittings, 3/8in PCV rubber hose, OEM spring hose clamps, stainless hardware
  • Crankcase kit: billet catch can with condenser and dipstick, S2000-specific powder coated bracket, anodized 8AN hose ends and adapter fittings, 1/2in PCV rubber hose, vacuum and heater hose to eliminate the OEM hard tube loom, stainless hardware
  • Dual kit: both of the above

Applications

  • 2000-2009 Honda S2000 RHD, all years
  • 2006-2009 Honda S2000 LHD (AP2)

Important Notes

  • NOT compatible with 2000-2005 LHD S2000 models unless the cruise control module is removed. Radium builds a separate kit specifically for 00-05 LHD cars; verify your chassis and market before ordering.
