Description

The direct-injected EcoBoost has no port injectors washing its intake valves, so every bit of oil vapor that gets through bakes on.

On the Focus ST and RS, crankcase vapor carries oil and unspent fuel into the intake tract from two directions: the PCV circuit under vacuum and the crankcase vent under boost. Radium Engineering Catch Can Kits intercept those lines with billet 6061 aluminum Fluid Lock catch cans, available as a PCV kit, crankcase (CCV) kits specific to the ST or RS, or dual kits that cover both circuits at once. Every version is a closed, vent-to-engine system that stays emissions and track legal. Pick the kit that matches your car and how thorough you want to be.

What You'll Feel

  • Cleaner intake valves over time on an engine with no port injection to wash them
  • Less oil film in the intercooler and charge piping, where it quietly costs thermal efficiency
  • A quick dipstick check instead of guessing what your engine is ingesting
  • The Fluid Lock mechanism standing guard if you forget to drain on schedule
  • Bolt-in brackets and pre-matched hoses, not a universal kit you have to make fit

Features

  • Billet 6061 aluminum Fluid Lock catch cans with integrated dipstick and O-ring sealed, pressure-safe construction
  • Patented Fluid Lock mechanism prevents overfilling and traps collected fluids until emptied
  • Large 10AN ORB ports, 2-step oil separation baffling, and 4AN ORB drain port
  • Closed loop, vent-to-engine (VTE) design remains emissions and track legal
  • Kit options: PCV side for 2013-2018 Focus EcoBoost, crankcase kits specific to 2015-2018 ST or 2016-2018 RS, and dual kits for each
  • Application-specific mounting brackets, hoses, and fittings per selected kit

The Details

The two circuits fail differently, which is why Radium splits the kits. The PCV line flows when the intake manifold pulls vacuum, dragging vapor and oil mist toward the manifold and valves. The crankcase vent line flows hardest under boost, pushing blow-by toward the turbo inlet, where oil then tours the compressor, intercooler, and charge pipes. A PCV-only kit protects the manifold side, a crankcase kit protects the boost side, and the dual kits close the whole loop. Because the cans are sealed and O-ring construction is boost-safe, no check valves are needed. Maintenance is a dipstick check starting around 3 to 4 weeks in to learn your engine's collection rate, then draining by unscrewing the lower reservoir, with PCV cans typically filling faster than crankcase cans. The ST and RS use different crankcase kits, so match the variant to your exact car before ordering.
