Description

A built engine's blow-by fills an ordinary catch can before the weekend ends; the AOS never fills at all.

A high powered modified engine tends to generate excessive blow-by oil and gasses, and an ordinary small catch can may quickly fill and not be adequate. The Radium Engineering Universal Air Oil Separator (AOS-R) Kit keeps blow-by oil and pollutants out of the air intake and intercooler systems while returning collected oil back into the oil pan, so there is no servicing required. Engine coolant lines route through a specially designed heating chamber that keeps the AOS warm and prevents water from condensing inside, and because water is more dense than oil, an integrated water trap around the bottom perimeter prevents condensation from descending into the oil pan. Valve cover vents route into the top inlet where stainless steel condensing material separates the oil from the gasses, with clean crankcase air either vented to atmosphere or recirculated to the turbo air inlet pipe.

What You'll Feel

  • Set-and-forget crankcase protection, with separated oil returning to the pan automatically
  • Intake, intercooler, throttle body, and manifold staying clean of oil film
  • Effectively higher octane from cleaner inlet air on knock-limited engines
  • Oil kept water-free by the coolant-heated chamber and integrated condensation trap
  • VTA or recirculated venting, chosen per your emissions and setup needs

Features

  • Universal AOS-R: separates blow-by oil and returns it to the oil pan, no draining required
  • Coolant-heated chamber prevents internal water condensation; integrated perimeter water trap
  • Stainless steel condensing material in the separation path; billet aluminum construction
  • Entire billet unit disassembles into 3 large pieces for servicing; anodized billet dipstick for inspection
  • Clean air vented to atmosphere (VTA) or recirculated to the turbo inlet

The Details

Radium's universal kit puts three installation requirements on the planning sheet: a port must be supplied on the engine for the oil to return through, the AOS must mount high enough that its bottom port sits higher than the engine's return port for gravity drainage, and engine coolant must be available to route through the heating chamber. Met properly, the system runs invisible, with the fluid level inside the AOS empty after sitting and the billet dipstick confirming it in seconds; a level that persists flags a return obstruction worth investigating. In freezing environments, Radium recommends installing insulation sleeving (not included) over any hose exposed to cold air flow. Chassis-specific AOS-R kits handle Subaru and other platforms with tailored brackets; this universal version serves everything else.

Kit Includes

  • 1x Radium billet AOS-R air oil separator with dipstick
  • Universal mounting and plumbing components per Radium's kit configuration

Applications

  • Universal: engines with an available oil return port, mounting height, and coolant access
  • Chassis-specific AOS-R kits available separately for Subaru and other platforms
