Description

Rubber fuel hose sweats vapor, ages out, and hates ethanol; PTFE does none of those things.

Building custom fuel lines means choosing hose you will not have to think about again. The Radium Engineering 6AN Universal DIY PTFE Hose Kit pairs carbon-lined PTFE hose in a black polyester braid with matched black anodized hose ends, cut and assembled to your car's exact routing. The extruded fluoropolymer core is wrapped in stainless wire braid, pressure tested to 1200 psi, and chemically inert against methanol, ethanol, E85, race fuel, brake fluid, and more. Near-zero permeation means no fuel smell in the cabin, ever.

What You'll Feel

  • No fuel odor creeping into the cabin, since PTFE has near-zero permeation unlike rubber hose
  • Lines that fit your chassis exactly, because you cut them to length
  • Confidence running E85, methanol, or race gas without hose degradation on the clock
  • Easier assembly than expected, with internal O-rings letting the hose ends swivel during installation
  • Static protection in high-flow fueling from the carbon-lined core

Features

  • Carbon-lined PTFE core dissipates static charge buildup in high-flow fuel systems
  • Extruded fluoropolymer core wrapped in stainless wire braid with black braided polyester outer finish
  • Pressure tested to 1200 psi and tolerant of extreme cold through high heat
  • Resistant to methanol, ethanol, E85, race fuel, brake fluid, power steering fluid, coolant, and transmission fluid
  • Black anodized aluminum PTFE-specific hose ends with internal O-rings for easy swiveling during install
  • Hose supplied in a length suitable for most custom applications

The Details

PTFE earns its place at the top of the hose hierarchy on chemistry alone: the fluoropolymer core simply does not react with fuels, including the alcohol blends that swell and harden rubber lines over time, and it will not release vapors, which is what makes it the right choice for lines routed through tight or enclosed areas like a cabin or trunk. The carbon lining matters more as flow rates climb, since fast-moving fuel through an insulating hose can build static charge, and the conductive lining bleeds it off. Assembly is the DIY part: measure each run on the car, cut the hose cleanly, and build the joints with the included PTFE-specific hose ends, which thread together around the captured core and seal on internal O-rings that also let the end swivel while you clock the fitting. One rule to respect: these ends are made specifically for PTFE hose and cannot be used with rubber hose, and vice versa. Additional Radium hose ends in straight, 45-degree, and 90-degree configurations are sold separately if your routing needs more bends than the kit provides.
