Radium Crankcase Catch Can Kit | 2011-2014 Ford Mustang GT (20-0279-FL)

The 11-14 Coyote's crankcase breather has its own intake design, and its own catch can kit.

The Radium Engineering Crankcase Catch Can Kit for the 2011-2014 Ford Mustang GT intercepts the WOT flow: the CCV catch can mounts on the front left engine bank and runs inline with the crankcase breather port. At low loads it experiences atmospheric pressure, but at high load (WOT) this hose experiences high flow out of the crankcase, which would normally lead to oil and sludge accumulation in the air filter intake pipe, and if the engine is turbocharged or supercharged, oil accumulation in the intercooler can lower thermal efficiency and decrease performance. The two kits exist simply because of the variation in the vehicle's OEM intake design, with this 20-0279 serving the 2011-2014 cars and the 20-0287 covering 2015+.

The Details

Ford's generation split lives at the intake, with the S197 and S550 routing their breather plumbing differently enough that Radium builds each its own kit, and the coverage logic is identical: this can carries the WOT circuit while the shared 20-0267 PCV kit covers the vacuum-side, with Radium recommending the dual kit (20-0324 for these years) for complete protection. Service runs on the built-in dipstick, checked at 3 to 4 weeks initially and drained on the engine's schedule.
