Description

Same 50 ppm result, a fraction of the space.

The Radium Engineering compact fuel vent charcoal canister traps fuel vapour from the tank or cell vent in a package small enough for tight installs. Radium's testing showed the same outcome as the standard canister at the vent exit: over 10,000 ppm without a canister, below 50 ppm with one fitted, and negligible pressure drop when flow tested against a quick-fill dry break dump can. Suits EFI and carbureted systems.

Choose Your Kit

  • 8AN, for 1/2in hose (20-1827-08): standard flow, pairs with the 20-0484-08 vent kit
  • 12AN, for 3/4in hose (20-1827-12): high flow, pairs with the 20-0484-12 vent kit
  • Universal (20-1827-00): for classic tanks running 1/4in, 5/16in, or 3/8in vent line

What You'll Feel

  • No fuel smell, from a canister that fits where the standard one will not
  • Fill speed unchanged, verified against a dry break dump can
  • A rebuildable canister rather than a throwaway part
  • Ports that work either direction, so mounting orientation is your choice

Features

  • CNC machined 6061 aluminum, type-II anodized
  • Vibratory-packed activated carbon inside a 150 micron strainer and anodized baffle
  • Two 16AN ORB (1-5/16in-12) female ports, usable interchangeably as inlet or outlet
  • Two 4AN ORB (7/16in-20) drain ports at the base with preinstalled plugs

The Details

The trade-off against the standard canister is service interval, not filtration. The compact holds one fifth the activated carbon, so it saturates sooner and needs recharging more often, while delivering the same sub-50 ppm result at the outlet. Choose it when space decides the matter, and keep a 20-1827-SK service kit on the shelf.

Plumbing rules are the same as the standard canister. A section of vent hose upstream of the air filter must sit higher than the fuel filler, vent line loops are recommended to keep debris out, and the air filter should mount at the rear of the car away from the exhaust.

Kit Includes

  • Compact charcoal canister with preassembled activated carbon, strainer, and baffle
  • Barb or AN fittings sized to the selected configuration
  • Preinstalled 4AN drain port plugs
  • NOT included: vent hose, air filter, and additional adapter fittings

Applications

  • Universal, any EFI or carbureted fuel tank or competition fuel cell vent system
  • Designed to work alongside Radium fuel cell vent kits

Important Notes

  • Holds one fifth the carbon of the standard 20-1828 canister and requires more frequent service
  • The activated carbon requires periodic replacement; use the 20-1827-SK service kit
  • Vent hose upstream of the air filter must be routed higher than the fuel filler
