Sometimes the port is buried and a standard adapter cannot reach past what surrounds it.

The Radium Engineering 8AN ORB to 5/16in SAE male extended fitting adapts an 8AN ORB port to a 5/16 inch SAE quick connect male on a lengthened body, giving the quick connect enough standoff to clear brackets, rails, and adjacent fittings that a short adapter would foul. Machined from billet aluminum and anodized for corrosion protection.

The Details

SAE quick connect sizing is measured by the outside diameter of the male fitting: 0.3125 inch is 5/16, 0.375 is 3/8. Confirm by measuring rather than guessing from hose diameter. Always lubricate the mating O-rings with a light amount of oil before installing; dry assembly is the most common cause of a nicked O-ring and a weep. If the extended length is not needed, Radium offers standard-length equivalents in the same thread and SAE combination.
