Description

Keep the automatic. The Ti6L lets a Nexus ECU or VCU take control of GM's 6L series automatics, so an LS swap or a rebuilt combination does not force you into a manual or a standalone transmission controller.

Why It Matters

The Ti6L is an expansion module that sits between your Haltech and the transmission's own control unit. It is configured through NSP software, and Rebel LS users get a setup wizard in the Haltech Connect App instead of a wiring diagram and a weekend. Plug and play with a Nexus Rebel LS terminated harness through the transmission breakout connector.

Before You Order

Haltech supports every TCM operating system known to them, but unknown ones exist. If yours is unsupported, a third party tool is needed to extract the operating system binary before support can be added, so make sure you have access to one before buying. Send the binary to Haltech and support is typically added within two business days. If you are not sure which operating system your transmission is running, contact us before ordering and we will help you work it out.

Transmission Tuning Explained

The Ti6L lets the Haltech present the right information to the factory control unit inside the transmission, which then makes the shifts. That factory tune is built around a factory combination. If your engine or a built transmission falls outside those parameters, a transmission tune is recommended.

  • Tier 1: shift line pressure adjustment, shift timing, TCC lockup control, TCC slip control. 5 total revisions.
  • Tier 2: same scope, 10 total revisions. Aimed at lightly modified transmissions.
  • Tier 3: same scope, 20 total revisions. Aimed at heavily modified transmissions.
