Description

Swapping the engine is the easy part. Keeping the RX-8's chassis happy is where the wiring fight starts.

Drop a Haltech ECU into an RX-8 and the chassis side still expects Mazda signals: relays, switches, CAN, and the accelerator pedal all need to be answered. The Mazda RX-8 Engine Swap Chassis Jumper bridges your Haltech engine management into the Series 1 chassis so the factory functions keep working the way Mazda intended. Built for the DIY wirer handling their own engine harness, it takes the body side off your plate. One clean interface between your swap and your street car.

What You'll Feel

  • Fuel pump, fans, and brake and clutch switches working like stock on day one
  • No digging through Mazda wiring diagrams to chase CAN and pedal pins
  • A swap that still drives like a street car, AC and cruise circuits included
  • Clean, serviceable integration instead of mystery splices behind the dash
  • More time spent on the engine side, where the fun actually is

The Details

An engine swap orphans the body side of the car. The factory PCM used to answer the fuel pump relay, the fans, the pedal, and the CAN messages the rest of the chassis listens for, and once it's gone, those circuits need a translator. The jumper maps your Haltech's I/O to the Series 1 chassis circuits through one purpose-built interface, so you wire the engine side your way and plug the body side in. It's made for builders running their own engine harness who want the chassis integration solved instead of reverse-engineered. Compatible Haltech units: Nexus S3, Nexus R3, and Nexus R5.
