Fuel cells, overflow tanks, and catch cans all need a filling point that seals. The Finish Line Factory Weld On Filler Neck and Cap supplies both halves: a 6061 aluminum neck that welds to your vessel and a matching threaded cap, in 1.0 inch, 1.5 inch, 2.0 inch, 2.5 inch, 3.0 inch diameters. Cut the hole, weld the neck, thread the cap. A finished tank instead of a science project.

The Details

6061 parent material is the point: the neck welds to aluminum vessels with standard TIG practice, matching filler and reasonable amperage, without fighting dissimilar metals. Cut the opening slightly under the neck's outer diameter, chamfer, and weld in stages to manage distortion on thin tank walls; a warped sealing face is the only way to ruin this part. Size the neck to the job, since a 3 inch mouth fills a fuel cell fast at the pump while a 1 inch neck suits a coolant overflow. Pressure-check the finished vessel before service, as every weld deserves proof before fuel touches it.
