The Details

Reusable hose ends survive many rebuilds, but the collar takes the wrench marks, the vise slips, and the scuffs of every assembly. Since the collar carries no sealing surface, replacing it is purely a restoration job: back the old collar off the assembled fitting, spin the new one on, and the hose end presents like new. Pair the swap with aluminum AN wrenches and vise jaw inserts going forward and the new collar stays clean through the next rebuild. Match the collar size to the hose end size exactly; a 6AN collar fits a 6AN end and nothing else.
