The Details

The exhaust environment eats fasteners: plastic ties melt, plated steel corrodes, and hose clamps look agricultural. Stainless ties survive it all, cinching wrap at each end and at intervals along the pipe so the weave stays tight as it heat-cycles. Tension by hand or with a tie tool, fold or trim the tail cleanly since cut stainless is a fine blade, and file the stub if hands will ever work nearby. The bite that makes them permanent on wrap argues for care on wiring, where a gentler touch or a protective wrap under the tie keeps insulation intact. Once placed, they are effectively lifetime hardware.
