The Details

Stainless braid over a rubber liner is the traditional armor of race plumbing: outstanding crush and abrasion protection with the bright, timeless look. The rubber liner handles gasoline, oils, and coolants across a wide temperature range. Sizing follows AN convention, where the dash number tracks the hose inside diameter, so match hose size to hose end size exactly and match both to the flow the system needs; fuel feed lines step up with horsepower while return, vent, and breather lines can run smaller. Cut with dedicated hose shears for a square, unfrayed end, wrap the cut line before cutting braided hose, and seat the hose fully into its end before assembly. Bare stainless braid is itself abrasive and will happily chew paint, wiring, and softer hoses it touches, so route with separators and sleeve it where it crosses anything you care about. Buy the roll length that covers the whole project plus a mock-up allowance; splices are just extra leak points wearing a disguise.
