The Details

At 150 degrees the fitting nearly reverses the line, which lets a hose leave a port aimed the wrong way and come straight back without a folded liner or a wide wasted loop. Push-lock is the quiet workhorse of hose systems: the multi-barb nipple grips the hose ID so aggressively that, on proper push-lock hose, the joint holds without a clamp. The trick to easy assembly is a square-cut hose, a touch of assembly lube on the barbs, and a steady push with the hose bottomed against the stop; if it slides on easily, the hose is oversized and will seep.
