The Details

Nylon braid over a rubber liner is the modern default for street and race plumbing: lighter than stainless, kind to whatever it rubs against, and finished in a low-key black that photographs like OEM-plus. The rubber liner handles gasoline, oils, and coolants comfortably. Sizing follows AN convention, where the dash number tracks the hose inside diameter, so match hose size to hose end size exactly and match both to the flow the system needs; fuel feed lines step up with horsepower while return, vent, and breather lines can run smaller. Cut with dedicated hose shears for a square, unfrayed end, wrap the cut line before cutting braided hose, and seat the hose fully into its end before assembly. Nylon braid resists abrasion well, but any braided hose sawing against a bracket for ten thousand miles will lose; separators and P-clamps are cheap insurance. Buy the roll length that covers the whole project plus a mock-up allowance; splices are just extra leak points wearing a disguise.
