Description

Not every line on the car needs to be braided; some just need to not fall off.

Breathers, overflow tanks, vacuum references, and low pressure feeds are plain-rubber-hose territory, and adapting them to AN is money spent on the wrong problem. The Finish Line Factory NPT to Barb Adapter - Straight threads into ports from 1/8" to 1/2" NPT and gives you a machined 6061 aluminum barb sized for 3/16" to 1/2" hose. Push the hose on, clamp it, move on with your build. Simple, cheap, and exactly enough fitting for the job.

Benefits

  • Hose slides over the barb with a firm push, then grips like it grew there
  • One clamp and the connection is done, no flaring, no hose ends, no assembly lube
  • Tapered threads seat with clear feedback as the joint tightens
  • Machined barb ridges hold without the sharp edges that slice cheap hose
  • Catch can and breather plumbing finished in an afternoon, not a weekend

Features

  • CNC machined 6061 aluminum construction
  • Male NPT tapered thread, 1/8" through 1/2" NPT
  • Hose barb sized for 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", and 1/2" ID hose
  • Suits fuel, oil, water, and air service at barb-appropriate pressures
  • Works with push-on rubber, silicone vacuum, and FLF push lock hose
  • Single fitting per order in your selected size combination

The Details

A barb holds hose through interference: the barb's outside diameter runs slightly larger than the hose's inside diameter, so the rubber stretches over the ridges and the clamp keeps it there. That's why matching sizes matters more here than anywhere else in your plumbing. A 3/8" barb inside 1/2" hose will seep no matter how hard you crank the clamp, and the clamp itself should be a worm-gear or constant-tension EFI style seated just behind the barb ridge, not crushed over the tip. On the port side, standard tapered-thread rules apply: sealant on the NPT threads, first thread left bare. Know the limits, too. Barbed connections are the right call for vacuum, breather, overflow, and modest fuel pressure, but a clamped rubber joint is not where you want 60 psi of EFI fuel pressure living; step up to AN or quick connect fittings for that. Within its lane, a machined aluminum barb outlasts the brittle nylon fittings it replaces and never rusts like the plated steel ones.
