The Finish Line Factory Female AN to Male AN Expander (Step Up) threads its female side onto an existing male AN flare from 3AN, 4AN, 6AN, 8AN, 10AN, 12AN, 16AN and presents a new male flare up to a larger size, 6AN, 8AN, 10AN, 12AN, 16AN, 20AN. One swivel-on part converts the port and the plumbing continues in the size the system needs.

The Details

Seals metal to metal on the 37 degree AN flare, no sealant, no tape, ever. The female nut on this adapter swivels, which is the quiet convenience: it threads onto the existing male flare without rotating the whole fitting body, so the male end can be held at any orientation while the nut draws down. Stepping up suits feed lines growing with horsepower, pumps outgrowing their original plumbing, and consolidating mixed-size systems onto one hose size. Back up the adapter body with an aluminum wrench while attaching the next hose end so the two joints torque independently, and inspect both flare faces before assembly; the seal is only as good as the smoothest scratch on either cone.
