Description

A hose forced into a tight bend off a straight fitting is a kink waiting for race day.

Straight adapters work great until the port points directly at a frame rail or an intake runner. The Finish Line Factory AN to NPT Adapter - 45 Degree turns the corner for you, machined from 6061 aluminum with a black anodized finish, in 3AN through 20AN with NPT threads from 1/8" to 1". The gentle 45 degree sweep takes the strain out of the hose so your braided line runs where you want it instead of where it lands. Solves the routing problem at the fitting, not the hose.

Benefits

  • Hose runs relax into place instead of fighting you during mock-up
  • No more crushing a bend radius just to clear the strut tower or steering shaft
  • Tapered threads bite progressively as you tighten, so you can feel the seal happening
  • The flare seat lands your hose end square, even with the fitting at an angle
  • Less hose length wasted on sweeping detours around obstacles

Features

  • CNC machined 6061 aluminum, black anodized
  • 45 degree fixed elbow between the NPT and AN ends
  • Male NPT tapered thread, 1/8" through 1" NPT
  • Male AN with 37 degree flare seat, 3AN through 20AN
  • Rated for fuel, oil, water, and air service
  • Single fitting per order in your selected size combination

The Details

An angled adapter earns its keep by protecting bend radius. Every hose has a minimum bend it can tolerate before the inner liner kinks and flow drops, and braided hose hides that damage under the braid where you can't see it. Putting the 45 degrees into an aluminum elbow instead of the hose keeps the liner round and the flow full. Assembly follows standard tapered-thread practice: sealant on the NPT threads (kept off the lead thread), none on the AN flare, which seals metal to metal on its 37 degree face. One thing to know going in: a fixed-angle NPT fitting stops where the taper says it stops, so final pointing direction depends on thread engagement. You can fine-tune within reason during the last partial turn, but if your build demands exact clocking after torque, the 90 degree swivel version is the better tool. Use an aluminum AN wrench on the flats to keep the anodizing clean.
