Description

In-tank plumbing is a knife fight for millimeters, and this fitting brings a plan.

Plumbing a fuel cell means AN lines outside and hose-clamp reality inside, usually with an in-tank pump crowding the space. The Finish Line Factory AN to Barb Fuel Cell Bulkhead passes through the tank wall with a male AN flare outside in 6AN, 8AN and a 3/8 Barb, 5/16 Barb, 1/2 Barb barb inside. Run AN from the cell straight to the rail and back.

Benefits

  • The tank wall stops being the gap in an otherwise clean AN system
  • The straight barb drops the interior hose right where the pump expects it
  • Clamped in-tank hose connects with ordinary tools through the access plate
  • Outside, the flare takes a standard hose end like any other fitting

Features

  • Male AN flare (external): 6AN, 8AN
  • In-tank barb: 3/8 Barb, 5/16 Barb, 1/2 Barb
  • Panel-mount bulkhead design clamping the tank wall
  • 37 degree flare sealing outside; clamped barb inside
  • Suits fuel cell and fuel tank plumbing
  • Sold as a single bulkhead

The Details

Sealing at the tank wall happens at the bulkhead's clamped joint, so the wall hole must be clean and round, the clamping faces flat, and a washer used against thin cell walls. Inside, use submersible-rated in-tank fuel hose only, since ordinary hose degrades soaking in fuel from the outside in, and clamp it with fuel-rated clamps. Outside, the flare seals dry like any AN joint. Hold the fitting flats while torquing the bulkhead nut, and orient the barb before final clamp-up because it will not rotate after.
