The Details

ORB seals on a squeezed o-ring against a machined flat, which means torque is modest, sealant is never used, and the o-ring itself is the entire seal; inspect it at every assembly and replace it if it looks tired, because a fifty-cent ring protects a whole fuel system. Match the o-ring compound to the fluid: FLF Viton o-rings handle fuels and oils across a wide range. Seals metal to metal on the 37 degree AN flare, no sealant, no tape, ever. Adapting to AN at the boss keeps the whole system in one connection standard downstream, which is the entire point. If the boss is male and the plumbing needs to be female, this is the part; the ORB to AN straight adapter covers the opposite arrangement.
