The Details

Anywhere fluid must not retrace its path, a check valve is the honest fix: fuel feeds that drain back to the tank overnight, vent and breather runs that siphon under the wrong pressure delta, transfer plumbing between tanks, vacuum references that must hold. The mechanism only works pointed correctly, so follow the flow marking, and place the valve where its small restriction costs least, generally not as the choke point of a max-flow feed without accounting for it. AN connections mean it plumbs and services like every other fitting in the system, sealing dry at the flares with the body backed up during torque.
