Description

The pump is the easy part. Sealing, wiring, and filtering it inside a tank you have already cut into is where in-tank installs go wrong.

The DeatschWerks DW810 Universal Install Kit is the hardware half of a DW810 install, sold on its own: the 4-wire bulkhead that carries power through the tank wall, the pump-to-bulkhead harness, all four -4 ORB outlet fittings, two fuel socks, submersible injection hose, permanent clamps, and the lube packet. It is the same 9-1002 kit that ships inside the complete DW810 pump packages, offered separately for a second hanger, a pump moving into a different tank, or replacing the service items that wear out first.

What You'll Feel

  • A sealed, serviceable in-tank install instead of a bulkhead improvised out of whatever was on the shelf
  • Correct hose and clamps for submerged use, where ordinary fuel line and worm clamps fail
  • Fresh filtration on a pump that has been running on old socks
  • Every outlet size covered, so plumbing choice is not dictated by what came in the box

Features

  • 4-wire bulkhead connector with retainer and O-ring for a sealed pass-through
  • Pump to bulkhead harness, pre-terminated
  • All four -4 ORB outlet fittings: 5/16" barb, 3/8" barb, -6AN, and -8AN
  • Two fuel socks with retainer clips
  • Submersible fuel injection hose in both 5/16" and 3/8"
  • Permanent hose clamps in both 11.3mm and 13.3mm
  • Universal fitment, not tied to one hanger or chassis
  • Backed by the DeatschWerks limited lifetime warranty

The Details

The parts that matter here are the ones people substitute and regret. The hose is submersible fuel injection hose, rated to live in fuel rather than carry it, and the clamps are permanent crimp-style rather than worm gear, which is what keeps a joint sealed on the wrong side of a tank wall. The bulkhead needs a 13/32" (10.3mm) hole drilled in the top of the assembly, clear of other plumbing, wiring, and sensors, and it installs with the metal retaining clip facing the connector; fitted backwards, the pump simply will not run. Outlet fittings thread into the pump's -4 ORB port with the O-ring in place and torque to 11 to 14 ft-lbs, no more. Hose lengths are 8 inches each, so a longer run inside the tank needs hose sourced separately. Note that this kit covers the mechanical and in-tank wiring side only: it does not contain the C105 dual speed controller, and a DW810 cannot run without one.
