Description

Most big pumps make you choose: the flow you need at wide open throttle, or a fuel system that behaves at cruise.

A single-speed 800lph pump run flat out all day heats the tank, loads the charging system, and pushes far more fuel back through the return than the engine will ever use at part throttle. The DeatschWerks DW810 Brushless Series answers that with a two-speed brushless motor and the C105 controller: roughly 55 percent duty cycle for normal driving, then a jump to 100 percent the moment wide open throttle or a switched input calls for it. You get 810lph at 40psi when it matters and a calm, cooler fuel system the rest of the time. With no brushes and no commutator, the motor also survives the fuels that chew through conventional pumps, including E85, E100, and methanol.

What You'll Feel

  • Full-power flow on demand without running a race pump at 100 percent on the street
  • Cooler fuel and less pump noise at cruise, since low speed moves roughly half the volume
  • Confidence on aggressive fuels, where brushless construction removes the usual wear item
  • Headroom for a serious power target from one in-tank pump instead of a multi-pump setup

Features

  • High speed at 13.5 volts: 810lph at 40psi, 745lph at 60psi, 682lph at 80psi
  • Low speed at 13.5 volts: 445lph at 40psi, 410lph at 60psi, 375lph at 80psi
  • C105 dual speed controller included, stepping from roughly 55 percent to 100 percent duty cycle
  • Brushless motor with no brushes and no commutator, compatible with gasoline, ethanol blends through E100, and methanol
  • Compact body sized for in-tank mounting, electroplated steel exterior, single scroll composite turbine impeller
  • 4AN ORB (7/16-20 SAE) outlet, with 6AN and 8AN male flare plus 5/16" and 3/8" barb fittings supplied
  • Complete 9-1002 universal install kit included, from bulkhead connector through fuel socks and clamps
  • 8 volt minimum input, 14.5 volt maximum constant input
  • Backed by the DeatschWerks limited lifetime warranty

The Details

The install kit is universal rather than vehicle specific, so the pump goes into a factory or aftermarket hanger of your choosing. The wiring bulkhead passes through the top of the assembly and needs a 13/32" (10.3mm) hole in a spot clear of other plumbing, wiring, and sensors, with the retaining clip facing the connector; installed backwards the harness leaves the pump dead. Thread one of the supplied outlet fittings into the pump's 4AN ORB port with the O-ring in place and torque it to 11 to 14 ft-lbs, no more, because overtightening damages the boss. DeatschWerks is explicit that the pump is designed for switched dual speed operation only: wiring it to run permanently on high is prohibited and can void the warranty. The controller takes switched 12 volt on red, clean ground on black, and a switched ground on white to call up high flow, which is commonly driven by a Hobbs switch, a spare ECU output, or an RPM or throttle-position trigger. Voltage at the pump is the thing most builds get wrong: above 14.5 volts you gain nothing, and below it the flow numbers fall away quickly, so DeatschWerks strongly recommends a 10 gauge hardwire kit (part number FPHWK-10-HD, sold separately) rather than leaning on the factory pump circuit.

Kit Includes

  • 1x DW810 brushless fuel pump
  • 1x DeatschWerks dual speed brushless controller
  • 1x controller harness with flying leads
  • 1x 4-wire bulkhead connector with retainer and O-ring
  • 1x pump to bulkhead harness
  • 4x -4 ORB outlet fittings: 5/16" hose barb, 3/8" hose barb, -6AN, -8AN
  • 2x fuel socks with retainer clips
  • 1x 8" length of 5/16" submersible fuel injection hose
  • 1x 8" length of 3/8" submersible fuel injection hose
  • 3x 11.3mm permanent hose clamps
  • 3x 13.3mm permanent hose clamps
  • 1x lube packet

Applications

  • Universal: in-tank installation in factory or aftermarket fuel hangers with room for the pump body and a 13/32" bulkhead pass-through
  • Gasoline, ethanol blends through E100, and methanol
  • Not CARB legal, and not legal for sale or use on pollution-controlled vehicles in California
  • Does not include a fuel hanger, surge tank, regulator, or hardwire kit
  • Requires the C105 controller to run, which is included in this part number; the 9-811-1002 version ships without it
