Metric Port Plug

Unused OEM ports deserve better than a bolt from the hardware bin.

Deleted sensors and abandoned bungs leave metric holes all over a project. The Finish Line Factory Metric Port Plug closes them properly: 6061 high-quality CNC-machined aluminum with an included aluminum crush washer, in M10*1.0, M10*1.25, M12*1.5, M14*1.5, M16*1.5, M18*1.5. Thread it in, crush the washer, forget the port existed.

The Details

Washer-sealed plugs are wonderfully honest: the crush washer conforms between plug shoulder and port face, sealing at modest torque without sealant or drama. The rules are the same as any washer joint: clean, flat port face, a new washer whenever the plug is removed and reinstalled, and torque that crushes the washer without stretching the plug. Thread pitch matters absolutely, since metric ports come in multiple pitches per diameter; match the plug to the port exactly. Anywhere an OEM block, head, or housing offers a port the build no longer needs, this is the clean period at the end of the sentence.
