2013

Early On:

My engine management career goes back to 2013, when I worked at Turbosource handling North American sales and tech support for Adaptronic.

I learned to tune the hard way — on my own FD RX-7. If you've ever tried to tune a rotary, you know that piston engines feel almost easy after that. It taught me to read what the engine is actually doing instead of relying on assumptions.

2018

I started Tuned By Shawn

Honed my process and learned every thing I could about tuning cars.

2020

The Big Leap Forward

In 2020 I moved over to Haltech, learning their ESP software, and then went through what I consider a complete reset when Haltech released NSP.

Even though NSP carried over plenty from ESP, the flow and structure were different enough that I had to learn the platform all over again.

I've been living in NSP ever since — six to eight hours a day, six or seven days a week, between customer cars and my own ongoing R&D work.
