What it's for
The EVAP system stores fuel vapor from the tank in a charcoal canister, and a purge solenoid lets the engine draw that vapor in and burn it. The EVAP Generic Correction table modifies the purge solenoid duty cycle using any channel you like as the axis, in 2D. A classic use is limiting purge by throttle position, so vapor isn't dumped in when it would upset fueling.
When you'd use it
Reach for it when the dedicated tables, like the coolant temperature correction and fuel tank pressure correction, don't cover what you need. Throttle, rpm or load are the usual choices.
What to check
- The axis channel is the one you intended and reads correctly.
- Log purge duty alongside fuel trims to confirm the correction behaves as expected.
- The base EVAP setup and wiring are right first.
