PORTS AND FITTINGS
The fuel rail ports are tapped for 8AN ORB.
8AN ORB Adapter Fittings can be found HERE.
8AN ORB Direct Mount Regulators can be found HERE.
8AN ORB Fuel Pulse Dampers can be found HERE.
Fuel Pressure Gauge Adapters can be found HERE.
Appropriate fittings must be selected based on the specific application. Ample space around the fuel rail port(s) is necessary for larger accessories such as fuel pressure regulators, fuel pressure gauges, and fuel pulse dampers. To verify clearance, the dimensional drawings on the product pages can be used as a reference guide.
Manufactured with a large 0.69" internal bore, the fuel rail can support all necessary engine power requirements. They are CNC machined from extruded 6063 aluminum, media blasted, black anodized, and laser etched for a high quality surface finish. Like the OEM fuel rails, the injector bores are 14mm ID so factory injectors are permitted. If purchased after July 2017, there is a provision to reuse the OEM injector clips (shown below).
This kit is compatible with all fuel types including popular alcohol mixtures such as E85. The OEM insulating spacers (Honda P/N: 16638-PNA-000) are reused and phenolic washers are included to thermally insulate the fuel rail from the aluminum intake manifold.
CONFIGURATION
20-0230-02 Fuel Rail, Honda K-Series
This part only includes the fuel rail and the mounting hardware making it ideal for custom fuel plumbing applications. If using the stock fuel feed line, select the plumbing kit shown below.
Included:
-Black Anodized Laser Etched Aluminum Fuel Rail
-Stainless Steel Mounting Hardware
-Phenolic Thermal Insulating Washers
20-0230-PK Fuel Rail Plumbing Kit, Honda K-Series
This kit allows easy connection of a factory feed line. The extended SAE quick connect fitting clears the OEM coolant hose (if equipped). Two plugs are included to plug the other two ports on the fuel rail. The example shown below depicts an optional fuel pulse damper 20-0177 FPD-XR in the center port.
Included:
-8AN ORB Male to 5/16" SAE Male Fitting
-8AN ORB Plug (x2)
FUEL PULSE DAMPER
Do I need a pulse damper? The opening and closing of the injectors creates pressure pulses in the fuel rail, which can lead to unstable fuel pressure. In order to achieve a safe and consistent rail pressure, pulse damper(s) should be used (especially with high flow injectors). The internal diaphragm will absorb oscillation pulses and stabilize fuel pressure. This correction can be measured throughout the RPM range and can often help an erratic surging idle.
If equipped, the OEM fuel pulse damper (shown above) can be reused with the Radium 14-0278 adapter fitting.
The Honda pulse damper and Radium pulse dampers (FPD-XR shown below) can be put on any of the fuel rail ports.
More information on the Radium Engineering dampers can be found HERE.
