The Radium can sits in-line and forces that flow through a 2-step baffle system, where the heavier oil and moisture drop out and collect in the reservoir while clean air continues on to the engine. Because the system is closed loop, filtered air routes back through the engine to be burned, which promotes negative crankcase pressure and keeps oil vapor out of the cabin. The Fluid Lock mechanism is the part most catch cans skip: if the reservoir fills before you drain it, an internal valve closes so contaminants cannot pour back into the intake stream. Check the level with the integrated dipstick starting around 3 to 4 weeks of driving to learn your car's collection rate. Draining means unscrewing the lower reservoir, or adding Radium's petcock drain kit (sold separately) where space allows.
